Today’s comic was a bit screwed up. I stretched it when i was framing it. Â And I forgot to post it until about 5:30. So I’ll fix it tomorrow. Â That being said, I was happy to draw the characters from Monsters Inc. I love that film. Even amongst the pantheon of brilliant Pixar films I love this film. Â Love, love, love. Â They should do a sequel to this before they do a sequel to Cars. Sadly, that won’t happen. Though I like Cars too.
It’s a cliche by now.  People say that certain songs make them think of a certain event or time in their lives.  I always thought that to be sentimental rubbish.  Until it happened to me the other day. I was at work, innocently chugging along with my daily work when “Wind of Change” by the Scorpions came on. I know it’s corny to like the Scorpions and really, this is the only song I like by them. But I was suddenly seized by a nostalgic rush that made me think of my time living in Germany during the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall.  It makes me think of  Ramstein Jr. High School, our house in Niedermohr, Germany and my bizarre (at the time) infatuation with 80’s hair metal music.  And smoking cigarettes with the dumbest kids alive at the playground across from school.  And the girl I had a crush on in my history class.  And my brother’s weird interest in clothing by Starter (jackets, sweatshirts, hats etc.)  And then there’s the fall of the Wall, itself.  The younger set these days won’t ever understand what a monumental event the fall of the Wall was.  The end of Communism, the end of the split between east and west Germany.  I don’t know if I’m explaining it well but there it is.
There’s been a big hoopla over Charlie Sheen lately. Because apparently he’s crazy and thinks he’s a winner warlock with tiger’s blood or something. Â I’m just going on the record as saying I’m way sick of hearing about him. Â Unless I’m watching Hot Shots or Hot Shots Part Deux on TV, I don’t want to hear about him. Â Seriously. I have spoken.
Okay, so Mt.Rushmore was a really good idea. Take four great presidents and put their faces on the side of a mountain. Â I keep thinking they should make one for nerds. Â Here are the four faces of Mt. Dorkmore:
Spock- Mentioned in the blurb attached to the comic today.
Darth Vader- Need I say more?
Batman- The comic version. Â Not the George Clooney version.
Indiana Jones- And they could put a theme restaurant inside his nose. Neat huh?
Things I Love To Do:
– Read comics on the john
– Make up songs celebrating the (mostly) imaginary homosexuality of my roommate
– Play Uno on X-Box Live
– Fantasize about moving to another city
– Sing cheesy 80’s songs to myself (For example, I’m singing ‘The Final Countdown’ as I type this)
